*

Last week has not been good for my heart! I have been so nervous for Nezuko and Tanjiro, but finally the wait is over. This week’s episode reminded viewers what makes these siblings such a great team. They are just as strong apart as they are together, and it’s about time the Demon Slaying Corps realise it!

Japanese Original Episode Title: 柱合会議

Plot

With Sanemi’s blood right in front of her, it takes everything for Nezuko not to suddenly attack him. Tanjiro manages to break không tính phí of his bonds & run forward, crying out her name. Nezuko thinks about her time with her family as well as Urokodaki’s words. She ultimately overcomes her bloodthirst and turns away from Sanemi. The Master tells Tanjiro that khổng lồ gain the full respect and understanding of the hashira, he should aim lớn kill one of the 12 Demon Moons. With those words và Nezuko’s control proven, the matter is settled và Shinobu invites them lớn her home. There, Tanjiro is reunited with Zenitsu & Inosuke who are nursing wounds & troubles of their own. The episode ends with the Master’s meeting with the hashira. The demons seem to be growing in strength, but the demon slayers are only growing weaker. The Master makes a promise that he will destroy Muzan Kibutsuji if it’s the last thing he does.

Episode Highlights

I’ll Never Forgive You!: Watch out Zenitsu và Inosuke, a new comedy duo is on the scene! I couldn’t stop laughing at the two workers who had to carry Tanjiro và Nezuko around. I hope we’ll see more of them!

Headbutting Time: Definitely my favorite moment of this week’s episode was when Tanjiro came running back to lớn try to headbutt Sanemi. Especially straight after the Master had told him the hashira were deserving of his respect! I hope Tanjiro gets lớn dish out his justice lớn Sanemi one of these days, but for now our cinnamon boy needs lớn rest a bit!

He knows her name: I wasn’t very surprised that the Master knew of Tamayo. For him to lớn be so supportive of Tanjiro và Nezuko’s situation, he must have come across other demons who have managed to live peacefully amongst humans. Although it was a tad sneaky the way he mentioned it khổng lồ Tanjiro while he was being dragged away!

A Deadline: Something that did surprise me in this week’s episode was Tanjiro talking about his need khổng lồ get stronger soon. While I knew that the sooner Nezuko could return to being a human the better, I hadn’t thought so far ahead that Tanjiro is working on his own physical deadline. Nezuko will remain the same, no matter how many years go by, but Tanjiro will continue to lớn grow older. One day his body toàn thân will fail him and he will no longer be able to tìm kiếm for a cure. But worse than that, one day he will leave Nezuko in the world alone.

Trivia

Q Posket: A second series of Demon Slayer Q Poskets have been announced for December release. While the first Demon Slayer Q Poskets were available in arcades, this series is part of the Weekly Shonen Jump q posket petite series, which is a mail order service. This set will feature a new design for Nezuko, Tanjiro as well as a new character – the flame hashira, Rengoku.

Comments

Very early on in the series, Urokodaki told Tanjiro that he hypnotised Nezuko, making her see all humans as her family. While I understood the necessity of this, it never sat well with me. Ultimately, it felt lượt thích the series had taken away Nezuko’s agency. Whenever she controlled herself or protected a human it wasn’t really her doing it, but rather the hypnotism. During the tsuzumi mansion arc, there’s even a scene where Nezuko rubs the head of one of the children, picturing the child as her dead younger sibling. But in this week’s episode we saw that the hypnotism was more of a suggestion or lesson to Nezuko, rather than actually controlling her thoughts or feelings. She sees humans as being part of her family, in that they should be protected just like she would protect her own family. Perhaps when she saw the child in the tsuzumi mansion, she wasn’t actually seeing her younger sibling but being reminded of them. As she struggles against the allure of Sanemi’s blood, she remembers her family, và the love they had for one another. She sees each human as deserving of that same love & protection. This ultimately culminated in her own decision lớn turn away from Sanemi. Her mental strength and actions are the result of her own thoughts và feelings & not dictated by any hypnosis. She is the master of her own fate.

A Soothing Voice

At the end of each week, I always look forward lớn watching Demon Slayer and I have to say, with the kết thúc in sight, I am feeling quite sad! Over the last twenty-three weeks we really grew to love the characters & they almost feel lượt thích family. With just three episodes left, I don’t think I’m ready to let them go. This is going to lớn be a long and painful goodbye to a truly wonderful series. I’ll be keeping my fingers & toes crossed for a Season 2 announcement.
